Triptych Abstract Art Embracing the Duality
Shadow’s Edge is a three-panel mosaic artwork built from deep blacks, crisp whites, and subtle metallic tones. It’s a bold study in contrast and the quiet strength found between light and shadow. Charcoal-infused fragments meet clean white planes, creating a composition that shifts throughout the day as light reveals hidden warmth and soft, cool shadows.
Why It Belongs in Your Home: Shadow’s Edge brings a dramatic, grounded presence into your space. Its high contrast palette creates a striking focal point without overwhelming your decor, making it ideal for minimalist or modern interiors. The piece adds emotional depth to meditation areas, reading corners, or reflective rooms, and pairs well with black leather, crisp white textiles, and contemporary accents.
What Makes It Special: This artwork is a visual meditation on duality: clarity and mystery, grief and hope. Metallic pigments add subtle dimension as the light changes, and the strong, balanced composition anchors a room. It’s a one of a kind piece from the Held Together series.
Materials & Technique
I build each piece on handmade wooden cradled panels wrapped in canvas. The mosaic surface is made from cast fragments that cure to a smooth, stone-like finish, and I tint and place each one by hand to create subtle shifts in color and texture. The wooden trim is painted for warmth, and the surface is finished with a combination of matte and gloss varnish for protection and tactile contrast. The custom floating frame is finished with a soft, non-reflective matte spray.
