Mixed-Media Abstract Art

Painted by Three Hands
Wood, acrylic paint

Painted by Three Hands is a mixed media artwork built from wooden blocks of varying heights, each one painted by me, Ally, and Kylie. The blocks come together in a structured grid, but the colors and patterns inside each square carry the individuality of the hands that created them. Some blocks are bold, some soft, some layered, each one a small snapshot of a person, a mood, a moment.

The different block heights add depth and a sculptural feel, letting light move across the surface and reveal new relationships between colors as you shift your perspective. The black frame grounds the composition and gives the vibrant blocks a clean, contemporary structure.

This piece is one of my favorites because it isn’t just something we made. It’s something we made together. A shared creative moment preserved in wood and paint, holding the presence of all three of us in a way that feels joyful and quietly meaningful.
