Orbit in Purple

Wood, resin, metal, pigment

Orbit in Purple is a mixed media abstract artwork built from resin, pigment, wood, and metal. Curved lines and layered arcs move across a white background with a soft crackle texture, creating a gentle contrast to the bold violet shapes that sweep through the composition. Thin black lines intersect the arcs, forming a quiet geometry that feels intentional and intuitive.

Metallic circular elements punctuate the surface and anchor the movement of the curves. The resin amplifies the color, giving the purple pigment a luminous, glass-like quality that shifts with the light. The floating frame and wood cradle ground the piece and offer structure while allowing the layered forms to feel weightless.

This artwork explores the relationship between fracture and flow, showing how lines, arcs, and surfaces can intersect without losing their softness. It’s a study in movement, balance, and the quiet tension between precision and organic form.
