Night Tide
2022
Resin, pigment, glass

Night Tide is a mixed media memorial artwork created with resin, pigment, and frosted glass. The moon is formed from resin infused with the ashes of Andy’s parents, holding their presence within a quiet, celestial shape. Its textured surface glows softly against the dark background, echoing the way moonlight settles into the night sky.

To the right, hand placed pieces of frosted white glass saved from his mother create the impression of water catching light. The resin amplifies their translucency, letting the surface shift between softness and depth as you move. Vertical elements add structure and suggest reflections, movement, or the slow pull of tide and time.

This piece was made for his sister, Amy, as a way of offering her something luminous rather than heavy. It holds a moment in material: the moon above water, light meeting reflection, memory meeting presence. A quiet tribute to the people who shaped them, and to the way love continues to move across the surface of our lives.
