Monochrome Strata
2022
Wood, glass, resin

Monochrome Strata is a mixed media triptych exploring contrast, texture, and the quiet rhythm of repeated form. Each panel pairs smooth, solid surfaces with sections of black and white glass, hand cut and suspended in resin. The fragments create a speckled, atmospheric texture that shifts as the light moves across the surface.

The panels sit within a structured wooden frame, where vertical and horizontal elements create a sense of order and balance. The dark wood grounds the composition, while the resin infused glass adds depth and a soft translucency. Together, the materials form a layered visual language that feels structured yet organic, minimal yet full of subtle detail.

This piece reflects an early exploration of how glass and resin transform when held within a geometric framework. It’s a study in contrast, placing smooth surfaces beside textured ones and solid forms beside fragmented ones to create a quiet, monochrome rhythm.
